Double Check Pressure Washing is proudly owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Kyle and Emily Kohls. As a locally rooted, hands-on ownership team, we believe in doing things the right way — showing up, doing exceptional work, and treating every property as if it were our own.
What truly sets us apart is simple: the owner is the one doing the work. From pressure washing and staining to window and gutter cleaning, Kyle personally executes and oversees every job, ensuring the highest level of quality and care. Behind the scenes, Emily ensures the business runs smoothly and sustainably, allowing us to deliver consistent, dependable service our clients can trust.

Kyle Kohls — Co-Owner & Operations Manager
Kyle is the heart of Double Check Pressure Washing’s day-to-day operations, and the person you’ll most often see on your property. He has been managing and running Double Check for years — long before stepping into ownership — and brings advanced experience, technical skill, and genuine pride to every job.
Unlike many companies where work is delegated out, Kyle personally handles the pressure washing, staining, window cleaning, gutter cleaning, and quality control on every project. He believes craftsmanship matters, details matter, and trust is earned through consistent excellence.
Clients often comment on Kyle’s professionalism, work ethic, and care — and it shows in the results. For Kyle, this isn’t just a job; it’s a craft and a reputation he stands behind fully.
When he’s not on the job, Kyle enjoys time exploring with Emily and their dogs, history, travel, gardening, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers.
Emily Kohls — Co-Owner & Business Manager
Emily oversees the business, financial, and organizational side of Double Check Pressure Washing, ensuring everything behind the scenes runs seamlessly. By profession, Emily is a licensed psychotherapist and the owner of a local private practice, which informs her thoughtful, client-centered approach to running the business.
Her role allows the company to stay responsive, organized, and focused on long-term quality. Emily believes dependable systems, clear communication, and consistent follow-through are the foundation of a business clients can truly trust. She’s proud to help lead a business that values integrity, reliability, and meaningful relationships with clients.
Outside of Double Check, Emily is deeply invested in community service, time shared with loved ones, seeing the world, reading, and spending time outdoors with Kyle and their dogs.
Nichole Lee — Office Manager
Nichole is the backbone of Double Check Pressure Washing’s office operations and the person who keeps everything running like clockwork. As the Office Manager, she handles scheduling, estimates, client communication, and day-to-day coordination, ensuring every job runs smoothly from the very first call to the final follow-up.
Clients love Nichole for her responsiveness, professionalism, and warm, approachable demeanor. She takes pride in making the entire process smooth and straightforward, and her commitment to excellent service shows in every interaction.
Outside of Double Check, Nichole is also the owner of a local candle business, Hawthorn & Oak, and can often be found at markets around Wilmington on the weekends. She enjoys playing volleyball and other team sports, spending time with her husband and pets, and unwinding with a good book.
Meet Taylor, our production manager!
Taylor, after serving four years in the Marine Corps, decided to settle down in eastern North Carolina, where he met his wife Abigail, who works at Emerge Orthopedics. He is Originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin and of course is a Cheesehead. He also is a lover of all things in the kitchen and is an avid MMA fan. Taylor Loves spending his time at home playing with his three children, Jackson, Amelia, and Emery.
